HOT

I don't know why I can't bring myself to blog lately. Maybe it's the heat... or the boredom... or the lack of things to talk about... or the IRRITABILITY. Could be all of the above. I even get irritated at my own dang self because I CAN'T TYPE and I am tired of hitting the delete button ALL THE TIME. How sad is that? I can't even be around myself now! I annoy me...

I used to sit around happily crocheting:

Now due to the heat I look more like this:

This is my current project:

BUT I can't work on it right now since we are having record breaking heat and I am already laying on the couch... and the blanket/couch throw is now covering me when I work on it. Normally I love summer. I go for picnics and swimming. Definitely take advantage of some camping and hiking! But not this year... and it's driving me nuts. My sense of adventure is suffocating. We'll just have to get one of those baby backpack things and go hiking with her after she comes, I suppose. I'm sure it will have to be next year after I work on my weak thighs!

So starting next week David and I will be staying at his parents' house. His mom will get my lunch ready in the morning and we will not have to worry about people coming in and out of the house. Honestly, I have been on people overload for a while now. That sounds wierd I know because most of the time I am sitting here alone. But to have people in and out of the house daily (twice daily on the dinner days) is a bit much for me. 16 weeks of that would wear on anyone I think, regardless of how much the help is appreciated. But my emotions can't do it. My patience is fried and sometimes (most of the time) I don't want to be social. So there you go. Not much else happening here, just waiting extra long for my appointment this week, which is not until Friday.

And I am over 29 weeks now!

Totally understandable... I was wondering where you went! I check this thing all the time, and I was starting to get concerned! Have you stopped worrying and started enjoying your pregnancy? I know it's kinda hard when hormones and hot weather mix, but I hope so! Thinking of you always...

I'd offer lots of hugs, but, you're right, it's far too hot, and it would require being in-person. You're OK and are doing what you need to do to get through each day. We love you! (And few people really get much crocheting or knitting done in the summer months. It's OK to put it down.)

I know what you mean about being sick of people. They mean well, but sometimes, you just want to make your own damn sandwich! But that pesky cervix, it calls for help.

29 weeks! You are getting so close it is insane. You'll probably only have 3-4 more hard weeks on the couch and then they'll let you up!

Yayy on over 29 weeks. I can only imagine how hot it is! It's awful here, but I'm not on bedrest!Hopefully you'll get some relief soon. Glad you updated. :)

PS. I love your newest project, it's beautiful. I made a blanket in a simiar color for Ava when I was pregnant, but I did it during night duty at the hospital.

I hope staying at your in-laws gives you the reprieve you need (and deserve!). I bet a change of scenery will be nice for a while, at least.
YAY on 29 weeks!! You are almost there and you will totally make it!
I totally sympathize with you on the heat. It can suck the energy right out of you! Hang in there!

I know what you mean... but you have a lot more people going through your house than I did while on bed rest... I would get sick of them too!
Swimming is OK, at least according to my perinatologist as it is a zero gravity environment, ask, and if you can, go swimming!

I imagine bedrest as being pretty isolating and depressing and that's just in my imagination. So I am sure that it is very hard to actually do. You are doing a great job... even if you don't feel like being social or crocheting or blogging...

Just pass on an update every so often so we know you're ok. Hugs... wish I could provide some entertainment... but my brain is turning over slowly these days.

Congratulations on making it this far! Very happy for you Becci.

Good luck at your appointment on Friday. I will be taking that day off to do more cleaning at my grandma's house. I would invite you but Dorothy probably wouldn't like all the action. ;) Take care.

OHSOHOTITIS. This may sound strange, but here goes...

soak a damp hand towel and keep it with you all day. Sponge off and let the fan cool you. DRINK LOTS OF WATER. Keep a cool cloth on your forehead. Also, wear it like a scarf around your neck. It keeps the whole body cooler. I know, because this is what the doc told me to do when I was carrying your sister and my heart would race 140 average on hot days. ALL your blood has to pass through you neck, obviously, and you can keep reasonably comfortable that way. FORGET THE YARN PROJECT FOR NOW. THAT EVEN SOUNDS HOT! It really is beautful, though.

I wish I was off today so I could bring you over here and let you spend the day. Would you like me to request to work from home soon? I know they would comply, and then this summer weather won't make you even so much more closed in.

Sorry this is so long, but I was worried about you yesterday with all this stinking heat. Why don't you and David come for dinner tonight?

By the way, Frank and Catherine just celebrated their 80th! Wahoo!

I just watered the yard. It felt so good. Do you have a mist bottle? That would be good too!

Love, Mom

Congratulations on being 29 weeks. I know how exhausted I was after 8 weeks of bedrest, so I can only imagine how stressful it must be for you. I hope you get some much needed relaxation while with your in-laws.

I just found your blog today and wanted to pop in and wish you the best of luck with your pregnancy. I also have IC and just had my little baby boy after 12 weeks of bedrest. He did come 5 weeks early but the cerclage did hold him him. This time I got Pre-E and had to have him 5 weeks early. I know the bed rest stinks but best of luck to you.

Becci - we are still rooting for you, and I know this is so evil and awful and your brain feels fuzzy and life sucks for the most part... but that is the bed rest speaking and it is all for a very good reason!

I hope that things cool off soon there. Between the heat and the bedrest, it's no wonder that you're feeling irritable.

Your project looks lovely, by the way.
