Well, it's not a lot, but I'll take it! My appointment went well today, cervix behaving at 2.8cm. Baby Dorothy is now just over 3 lbs and is a very average size for her age. Good news! She's getting bigger and therefore kicking me harder. There is nothing like that feeling.
So we now have permission to go on 2 outings a week... dinner, movie, things like that. He said he would add an outing at a time for a while until I get off the bedrest, which it's not for sure when I will get off it. So this week will be dinner out with my family and registering for my family baby shower that is 3 weeks from today. It seems unreal to be this far into it, as I spent so long worried that our baby would be born way too soon. We are in very good territory now, being that my 30 week mark is tomorrow.
I have had a very mellow week. I got to spend a night with my sister-in-law and hold my nephew quite a bit. I just can't get enough of him and his cute little self. For once I can let myself imagine what it might be like to hold my baby that way. Part of me still wants to protect myself. Part of me wants to say that anything could happen. But it is now easier to hope than it has been and I am slowly letting myself prepare for a child. I think most of the mental preparation is still hard to do, but here we are getting closer and closer. I want nothing more than to hold her and know that she is safe. Someday soon....

Becci, I am glad you are getting more freedom :) I know you still try and protect yourself and that is natural but try to just be happy and know that Dorothy is going to be born strong and healthy.. You are at a great mark right now.. wow 30 weeks that is so awesome. I knew you could do it :)
Hope you have a great dinner out with the family and you WILL be holding your daughter in your arms sometime soon.. but not too soon!
Tonya's right. It's time to let yourself dream, just a little bit, about what it will be like to hold Dorothy. Odds are that day will actually come, and much sooner than you can prepare for it, even if you end up miraculously going past your due date.
Maybe you should let yourself daydream in proportions to the outings you're allowed: two good daydreams a week for now. By the way, congratulations on being allowed those outings. Enjoy the freedom while you can; when Dorothy comes you'll be housebound for a while again.
Becci, Congrats on almost reaching the 30 week mark and on getting to go out for dinner. Enjoy every last morsel. And thank your for following Elias's journey over at Mountaintop. I enjoy getting your comments and checking in on your bedrest survival, Christy

Oops, didnt realize Nick was on here. Sorry for all the extra posts just from me...not Nick but Christy.
How wonderful! Outings, I dreamed of them... I was never allowed them, but took a few (OK 2) over the course of 18 weeks... If I hadn't I would have withered and died. I know it!
That is awesome! Enjoy your outings!
30 weeks is a great milestone! Woo hoo!!! It won't be long now. I'm sure you are feeling upbeat now.
Hugs!
Congrats on the 30 week mark...that is so huge! I was relieved to hear from you today; I have been thinking about you all week!
I hope you enjoy your outings...that is so great! Have fun registering for your baby shower; I can't wait to be at that point.
Have fun with your family. I look forward to hearing from you again, soon!
Congrats on making it to 30 wks! You and Dorothy are doing so good, you are all in my prayers and I'm hoping for another 7 wks. I'm glad you are able to start thinking now in terms of when baby comes home.
Yay on getting out more! Congrats on that too :)
Oh my, this is so exciting. 30 weeks and you get to go out to dinner and a movie. I will do a happy dance for you when I get up from the computer. What movie are you going to see? Tell us about it - well at least tell me about it - I haven't been to a movie in almost two years now. So excited for you.
Dorothy is very lucky to have you and David for her parents! You have done such a good job trying to stay on top of the doldrums of confinement!
Hang in there!! And enjoy this BEAUTIFUL day!!!
Happy dreaming!
See you tomorrow!!
Mom
Hey,mommy, why do keep poking me all the time? Can't a girl get some sleep around here? Well, I will tell you what, when I get out of here, i will make SURE that you are awake a bunch of the time. And, ya know, I have tried to be patient with you about this by GENTLY kicking you. Well. I guess I will just have to tell you in stronger terms. Taikuando style. And like I said, when I get out of here....
i love you
dorothy
Taekwando. Sorry.
Congrats on 30 weeks!! The outings will make such a difference! Except if you're like me. A little bit just left me wanting more, and now I am an honest to god cheater! give me a inch...
Congratulations on more freedom and 30 weeks!
LOL! I love Dorothy's comment.
LOL Dace, isn't it funny that we compare measurements... of cervixes (is that what you say when it's plural?) of all things!! We're both getting closer. Can't wait to see pics of those boys!
enjoy those outings! they make a huge difference!!
Enjoy! Just don't overdo it with registering, or get too overwhelmed with it like I did.
