Well I wanted to get some pictures up here of our weekend, but they will have to wait, as the memory card from our camera can only be used with the laptop. It is still having issues connecting to the internet and David is still trying to figure out why.
Aside from the heat, my baby shower went well. It's amazing how much STUFF there is to get for a baby. I mean, really, how much can a tiny little person actually need?? I got quite a bit of stuff at the shower, but there is still so much to get and I am still not able (not that I am not allowed) to go shopping because of how faint I feel if I am not sitting down. Even a small grocery shopping trip I have a hard time with. This is making me really nervous about all the stuff I have to go get (several different stores) not only for the baby, but to organize and baby-proof the house and simplify our lives. I need a personal assistant!! I should be having one more shower in 2 1/2 weeks that will hopefully fill in some more of the holes before Dorothy comes. My stitch comes out in 4 weeks and I feel very unprepared.
Also over the weekend, a living eulogy/blessing was done for David's 95 year old Grandfather. I thought it was really good. There was a slide show and people shared about what he meant to them over the years. More people should do something similar for their family members, in my opinion. People need to know their lives made a difference, so why do people wait until after the person is gone to share all the picutres and memories?
In all it was a good weekend and we are all trying to survive the heatwave here. It should be a bit better today, but still in the 90s. Time for some swimming!

You don't really need to baby proof until the little one starts being mobile. Don't worry...you've got time. :o)
Swimming sounds like lots of fun today. Enjoy!
Hi Becci.
I'm de-lurking though I've been reading your blog for the past few months. It's so exciting how close your getting!!
I'm sure you probably already considered this but perhaps part of the reason you feel faint is the medication your on. (If I'm remembering correctly your taking blood pressure medication that helps stop the contractions.) I'm on blood pressure medication and feeling faint is listed as one of the possible side effects. I'm sure that a lot of it has to do with the fact you've been bed rest but the medication may be exacerbating your symptoms. Just something to consider if you haven't already.
Take care.
Don't stress out too much about not having everything you need for Dorothy. All you really need for the first few weeks are the bare essentials. Baby proofing and items like swings can come later. I'm glad that everything is going so well!!! Relax and go swimming!!
Kellie, I think you're right. When I take the meds it seems to be worse, but I have to take them more when I am up. Not to mention my heart probably being out of shape. But all this is going to be worth it. I am sure I would do it again just to have her in our lives (and I haven't even met her yet).
You're doing great! I can understand that faint feeling--not to that extent (they had me on the same med, and they did list feeling faint as a side effect since it is orginally a blood pressure med), but every step outside helps! Enjoy swimming! That sounds wonderful.
Oh yes swimming would be nice!! Glad to hear the shower went well.. and your right.. maybe the next one will fill in some more holes on things you need to get :) It is soo exciting that in 4 weeks your stich comes out!!
Babyproofing doesn't need to start until the baby is mobile... it can wait until you are stronger and after the stitch is out or even after the baby comes home!
Half the stuff you never use, each mom has a different personality, my mom used dozens of blankets, I was a big onesie user and not so much with blankets... different... but both acceptable. Buy big!
Your package is coming along but I am sick right now and don't want to contaminate anything I send you, so I will hopefully send it this weekend!
And yes, how nice to honor the living for their gifts to our lives! What a wonderful thought!
Four weeks is nothing -- you can do that standing on your head! You're almost there!!!!
Awesome that you had a shower. have fun with the thank you notes. :)
I have a gift for you . . .
Don't worry about the baby proofing just yet. I worried about that too just before my boys were born. They don't move too much for a while so you should be fine.
The shower sounds wonderful!
Try to stay out of the heat!
Take care
