Good news

I am good to go for this week! My cervix seems to be cooperating with the cerclage, measuring today at 2.9 cm, which the tech said was really good. Last week I think it was 3.2 or something like that, but she said it was really normal for it to change a bit because it is a dynamic muscle....

After the urine sample, BP, weight check (still no pounds gained after being sick in the first trimester), and ultrasound, my specialist came in and talked to me, saying that everything still looked good, and that he had decided on doing the weekly progesterone shots, that he didn't care which thing worked (the shots or the cerclage), all he cared about was that this baby came out healthy and not too early. The progesterone shots are for people who are at a higher risk for preterm labor, so he essentially is covering all the bases. Fine with me! I am actually really glad he is being super cautious.

Babyb was looking good and moving around in there..... BUT still crossing those legs. Now I am wondering if the baby is ever going to reveal the sex. One of these days she/he is going to let the legs flop open at the wrong time and we will actually get a peek! With weekly ultrasounds it is bound to happen. And the cutest thing to me is that babyb's comfort position seems to be one hand sticking up over/beside the head and one hand near the mouth (see posted photo for example), as he/she was laying that way again this week. No 3D photos this week, but I am sure we will get plenty more as time goes on. I can't wait for DH to be able to come to the appointments with me..... Daddy wants to see the little munchkin, too!

Thanks for checking in on me. I agree, the appointments keep me sane, if that is possible.

Hi, there! I'm so glad you started a blog, and that you stopped by mine. We've been thinking about and praying for you folks a lot! We'd love to get together soon.

I'm adding you to my blogroll and will check in often.

Michelle, I'm sure that you do know her husband, since you know my DH from childhood . . . he was DH's best friend growing up and was best man in our wedding.

Purplek thanks for the thoughts/prayers! Sorry we have not been over in a while, I was SICK the whole first trimester....and now, well, you'd have to pack the girlies up and bring em to our tiny place. Come any time!

Michelle, yes Camp Morrow is where David and I met.... I was a summer missionary and he was working at high school camp. We both grew up going to Camp Morrow, I was just 6 years behind him, although we never met (although I am sure we saw each other at events) until summer 2004. I will ask him about you when he gets home tomorrow. Thanks for "stopping by"!

DH had mentioned that we were talking about coming out to your place on Friday, and bringing you dinner. I'd forgotten about it last night, but I think we are planning on it if you are?

The only problem is that Baby E and I have colds. They don't seem to be bad ones, but I'm hesitant to expose you to an illness. What do you think? Shall we just play it by ear and see if we're well by then?

do you have my number? if so you can just call me, or call Dave and he can give it to you. We are just getting over colds ourselves.... in fact I had an ear infection, so the stuff is going around, we are better now I'd say. I would not mind you guys still coming, David did mention it to me, that is if you are not too busy!

I don't have your phone number or e-mail address--DH has all that in his cell phone and we keep forgetting to put it into my computer when he's home. I looked for your e-mail on your blog but didn't see it. Could you please e-mail me (there's a link on my blog/profile) and we can work out the details?

Thanks!

Hey Michelle, this is David, and of course I remember both you and your little brother...Eric, right? How could I forget you guys? I have about a foot high stack of postcards and letters that you guys sent me at camp! Anyway it's good to hear from you!

And Becci my love...your blog is turning out real nice! I can't wait to get home tomorrow and see you!

David

2.9 is a great measurement! Speaking from experience, stay off your feet and try to relax (hahahaha, easier said than done, I know).

I loved my weekly ultrasounds. At least you feel like you have some control -- not over the cervix, mind you, because we all know cervixes (cervixi?) are the devil -- but over the process and having some knowledge of the situation.

Hang in there!
