On Tuesday morning I went in at 9AM and got my cerclage taken out. I wasn't expecting to go into labor that day, but secretly I was hoping!! The removal was supposed to feel like "a bad pap smear"... uncomfortable, but not too painful. Well, it didn't go down that way. It hurt. A lot. The good thing is it was relatively short (10 minutes or so). Even so, I was asking him to stop in the middle of it. He said in terms of removals, mine was a more difficult one. Evidently he put it in not wanting that baby to come out (good thing, cuz it worked)! My tissue had healed really well around it, which necessitated pulling harder, which caused PAIN. After a few minutes I started to feel a bit better, so David and I took a little walk to get drinks at the cafe downstairs. When we went back so Dr. F could check me, I was 2-3 cm dilated and 25% effaced. So now we are in the waiting game (again). Luckily this time the wait is shorter, as my due date is only 16 days away! I have been having the normal amount of contractions I had been having, so nothing has really changed in that regard. So (besides the awful castor oil) what are some of the wives tales to get labor started? Not that I am anxious or anything.....
I had another wonderful baby shower last Saturday at church. I couldn't believe how many people showed up! We are now totally set for Dorothy to get here. Her nursery is done and everything is in place.
The larger dresser (beside it is the metrolite stroller, which I love):
Her clothes are all washed and put away:
Her crib is set up and changing table painted:
And Goatee continues to be as cute as ever:
So, baby girl, you can come when you want to now. Mommy and Daddy want to meet you!

Congrats Becci!!
I can't wait to be reading about Dorothy's arrival; you are all set!
Sorry to hear the removal was so painful, but glad to hear it's out!
Nothing helped me go into labor, but friends of mine said that doing squats or walking stairs a lot helped... neither are very fun at this state of pregnancy though!
And if you ask many people you'll get the sxe response... So you can add that to your list. Also not the most easy thing to do at the end of pregnancy.
:) Good luck!
Giddyup!
I can sympathize on the removal. Mine hurt like a beeyotch. Bad pap smear my ass...
Hopefully you will go into labor soon. I would suggest lots of walking, since you're already 2-3.
They'll keep you if you are over 4 and contracting, so you only have a little bit to go!
I was a week late, so we tried everything...
Castor oil was a bust.
Either the accupuncture (stimulates contractions) or the doc stripping my membranes got me going.
My friends swear by a good eggplant parmesan dinner.
my mom says cinnamon tea. balsamic vinegar is supposed to work as well. i had an induction, so i don't know what it's like to go into labor on my own.
can't wait to hear when she arrives!!
good luck and god bless!
I'm so happy for you!!! You are SO ready aren't you???
How exciting!! Can't wait to hear good news soon!
Goatee is so cute!
Yay on the nursery and be stitch-free!

Becci, you deserve to be congratulated for all the hard work you put in and all you have endured to bring your baby girl here safely. Way to go, Mama. I can't wait to hear the news that she is here.
Yayyy, for full-term! Sorry the removal was painful. I sure hope you have gone into some full blown labor now and little Dorothy is here :)

Becci,
I've been reading your blog for a while now, and just wanted to say Hello, and CONGRATS!! It's so wonderful that you have made it this far! You, David, and Dorothy are in my prayers! I can't wait to hear her birth-story!!
*hugs!*
I can't wait to hear all about her arrival. Could be any day now! I am so excited for the two of you!
I had so much fun meeting Goatee and going shopping with you yesterday--thanks!
Sorry that your removal was so painful but at least it is out now. Those last few days \ weeks of waiting are so frustrating aren't they?! Wishing you lots of luck for a easy delivery. Mel x
I remember having my cerclage removed with my youngest ds and only full termer. We were so paranoid that we opted to wait until right before the csection to have it taken out. It was VERY uncomfortable! But worth it! Like I always say, " I am SO very happy for you and your dh!" Good luck, sweetheart!
